Crypto scanner guides: scans, alerts and Chains
Last updated:
These guides are for traders who read TD Sequential setups and countdowns and want confirmation from volume and candle patterns before they act. Each one explains a method, then shows how Moolish scans it and combines it with others into a single alert.
| Guide | What it answers | Start here if… |
|---|---|---|
| TD Sequential crypto scanner | What a setup and a countdown are, how the 9 and the 13 are counted, and how Moolish scans them on ten timeframes | You know the 9 but want it scanned across the whole market |
| TD Sequential with volume and candle confirmation | How to combine Buy Setup 9, a volume grade and a confirming candle across three timeframes into one alert | You already confirm setups by hand and want one alert instead of three |
| Volume VSA crypto scanner | The six volume grades from Very Low Volume to Ultra High Volume, High Volume or above, and how to scan them | You use volume to judge whether a signal is real |
| Candlestick pattern scanner for crypto | The 45 candle presets, the Candle editor for your own 1–5 candle pattern, and candles as the trigger card of a scan | You want a pattern found on every market, not just the chart you have open |
| Ready-made candle setups: System Candles | The 57 built-in Candles in Scan Events, the ready-made ones that join conditions on one candle, and a worked scan on real data | You want a common setup, such as a break of resistance on heavy volume, without building it by hand |
| Multi-timeframe crypto scanner | The 16 chart timeframes and ten scan clocks, and a single condition compared with several cards and Chains | You read a slow chart for context and a fast chart for the trigger |
| Event chain alerts | How Scan Events cards and the ordered Chains tool produce one alert, with a walkthrough on real data | You want one notification for a whole setup |
| Crypto Telegram alerts | Connecting your own bot, notify timing, the measured Telegram delay and the limits | You want alerts on your phone |
| Custom crypto alerts without code | Three ways to build your own alert: pick an event, combine conditions, or draw a candle pattern, plus Chains for ordered steps | You know what you want to be told about but do not want to write a script |
| Moolish vs TradingView alerts | A feature comparison, including when TradingView is the better choice | You already use TradingView alerts |
| Crypto market scanners compared | Scanners compared on criteria verified on their public sites | You are choosing between scanners |
| TD Sequential crypto screener: free vs paid | Free and paid TD Sequential screeners compared on markets, timeframes, alerts and price, with the pages checked and the date | You want a TD Sequential screener and need to know what free tools can and cannot do |
| Glossary | Plain definitions of setup, countdown, perfected setup, volume grades, candle patterns, closed and forming bars, event chains, lookback | A term in the app or a guide is new to you |
How the guides fit together
The scanner guides teach the signals: TD Sequential, volume and candle patterns. The confirmation guide and the event chain guide combine them. The glossary is the reference you open when a word is unfamiliar. All three use the same example: Buy Setup 9 on the 1D, High Volume or above on the 4H and a confirming candle on the 15M, one Scan Events card each. A second example works across assets: a Market condition of High Volume or above on the BTC 1D gates a trigger on an altcoin 15M.
What you need to follow along
You do not need to know how to code. You need a free Moolish account, which comes with a 7-day trial and no credit card, and a rough idea of what you would like to be told about. The methods used here, Sequencer 9-13 and Volume VSA, are listed on the methods page, and the Candle editor ships with 45 presets.
Everything in these guides describes how a tool detects conditions. None of it is financial advice, and none of it claims that a condition will lead to a profit. Read the Disclaimer and Risk Disclosure first if you have not already.
